The tekken series has been a staple in gaming ever since I was a kid. Namcos fighting game franchise, which has spanned well over 10 years, is finally back with it's new incarnation and I must say it looks to be the best one yet. Introducing multiple new characters as well as a new tag combo systems that adds a depth of strategy due to the need for team synergy, it promises to be fun experience for new comers and fans of the series alike. It boasts an amazing number of characters each with their own play style and strategies. One of the main changes, however, is the new metagame which will make learning tekken a arduous but rewarding endeavor. Another change is that the moves of some of the characters have been altered and new combos are now available. All in all, this new tekken seems to stay true to it's roots, while fixing many of the problems from previous versions. I will be updating with info, game play mechanics and maybe a character guide or two. Ok guys, stay tuned.
A blog from a pro gamer in Houston. Will offer insight and strategies on most fighting games as well as some rpgs. This is primarily what will be covered due to the fact that that's mostly what I play (sorry fps fans)

Persona 4 first impressions
Ok guys, so I've been playing a lot if persona 4 arena lately and I must say that it's shaping up to be a very interesting game. For the most part, it's a pretty straight forward game that has many of the characteristics of many other fighting games, but introduces many different sub-systems that are character specific. For example, akihiko, a rush down boxing character reminiscent of steve fox from tekken, has a sub-system within the game that powers up his attacks and gives them different properties such as invincibility frames, armor and allows for better combos. Also, p4 is very fast paced and will take some getting used to if you aren't familiar with faster fighting games such as guilty gear or umvc3. on another note, the music and sound effects in the game are exceptionally good. The combat is complimented by dialogue between characters as well as the crisp sounds of weapons clashing or slashing. I haven't had the chance to play persona as much as I do other games, but I will update you guys, as soon as I do with tips, hints and maybe even a guide or two.

Persona 4 Arena General and Stamina Rankings
Ok guys, so recently, i've really gotten into playing P4 Arena. I'm not as good as i am in Marvel or Street Fighter, but I can still offer some fundamental advice about the game in its entirety. First of all, like all anime games, P4 is heavily rush-down based with little to know zoning options except for a few characters. This means that all you Ragna and Sol Badguy players will feel right at home with this game and its cast of characters. Secondily, it doesnt have any shoryuken inputs, so it should be an easy game for beginners to jump into and for advanced players to quickly master. Like blazer blue and other Arc System games, it will also feauture the fatal counter and burst systems. A fatal counter is when you attack an enemy with a certain move that cause a longer counter attack than normal and allows for some pretty extravagant combos. Burst is the game tool that allows you to, at any time, emit a shockwave that knocks your opponent back and interrupts their combo. Anyway, I finally found a listing of the stamina for the characters in this game and thought I would share it with you guys.
Kanji: 10,500
Akihiko: 10,000
Chie/Labrys/Mitsuru/Teddie/Yu: 9500
Aigis: 9000
Yukiko: 8500
Yosuke: 8300
Naoto/S.Labrys: 8000
Elizabeth: 7500

The Chronicles of Inotia "Children of Carnia"
Hey guys, I know this isnt in the regular spectrum of things that I usually cover, but I just thought I had to tell you guys about it. It's an action rpg, kinda like skyrim or kingdom hearts, but it's made to be played on an android phone. Boasting over 20+ hours of gameplay and a story that could compete with some of the console rpgs, its truly a rare gem. It has over 6 classes that are customizable as well as over ten party members that you can play as. Just wanted to tell you guys about this amazing little game. Well, i'll be back tomorrow with some of the stuff you guys have come to love. Just thought that this would be a nice change of pace.

Persona 4
Ok, so i recently started playing Persona 4, and i must say that it is actually a very well thought out and entertaining game. It's developed by arc systems, so if you were a fan of their previous titles (blaze blue and guilty gear) you're in for a treat. It falls into the nich category of an anime fighting game, but it is still very accessible by the mainstream and is easy to pick up. I myself am very much still a beginner with this game, so there willbe more to come as i progress in skill in this game. But thats besides the point right now, starting as a rpg game, p4 arena still has many elements from its rpg beginnings. Firstly, it has status ailments that anyone familiar with any rpg would be familiar with.
Poision: Health reduces gradually over time
Charm: Opponent drains your sp meter
Silence: Not able to use system attacks or your persona
Stun: Restricted from normal movement; quick escape and mini-jump still available
Confusion: Movement controls from left to right are reversed
Fear: Can't tech throws and any attack received is a fatal counter
Emrage: Guard is no longer available, but you do 1.2X damage
