NBA 2k13

The new version of NBa 2k13, which will be in stores this Oct. 2nd, looks to be the best in the series as of yet, and thats saying alot, as they set the bar pretty high last year, with the intricate my player mode as well as the improved association. However, after reading and watching a fe videos for the new version, I can say that it's going to be a blast to play. Produced by Hip Hop legend Jay-Z, this looks to be the first game in the 2k series that actually makes you feel like you're part of the game instead of just controlling a 3d-model. Some of the ne features it will include are :
  • The Control Stick: For the first time ever, all dribble moves have been mapped to the right analog stick, as well as shooting, passing, and post moves. String together devastating crossovers and clutch shots for maximum control and effectiveness.
  • Dynamic Shot Generator: Shots are now dynamically created on the fly, with all-new collision physics created in real-time.
  • Signature Skills: Each player has unique abilities that can alter the course of a game. Players are modeled to impact the game in their own unique way, from Derrick Rose as a “Floor General” to Kevin Durant being “The Closer.” Learn to use each player’s unique ability and change the game on your terms.
  • Revamped Passing System: Improved fast break passing gives players more control. Fire a bounce pass to a cutting teammate or go “Lob City” in transition.
So I can't wait to get my hands on it next month. I'll be sure to write up some helpful hints to help you guys out.

UMVC3 Dormmammu Guide

Dorm. hasnt changed much since his apperance in the series and that, in my opinion, is a very good thing. Of his few changes, the two that stick out the most are the facts that he can do an abc chain combo and that his flame carpet disappears when he is hit (which is a very big nerf if you were used to the near invincible flame carpet of the previous renditon). That being said, he is still a very fundamentally sound character that is good for both new and veteran players alike.

Playstyle: Dormmamu is a very versatile character that is comfortable both rushing down his opponent as well as zoning and playing a keep away game. He has a very good super-jump cancel that can be used to cross up your opponet or retreat. Also, most of his moves are special move cancelable sp they can nearly all be made safe. Ultimaely, when playing with dorm. the object of the match is to confuse your opponet and keep them guessing by using your many options and versatile moveset.

Team Chemistry: As a character, Dorm is best suited either second or third on your team depending on who else you are using. He needs a lot of meter (super bar) to be used effectivly, so it's always best to pair him with a good battery character on point that can gain it for him. Likwise, he does an ungodly amount of chip damage and couple with x-factor level 3 can mean the end for an opponent ho squandered their x-factor earlier in the game. Also, a character with a good keep away assist such as doom's hidden missles will greatly improve his chances in combat.

Noatable moves: crouching light (good poke) crouching heavy (fastest ground normal) standing medium (nullifies projectiles), forward heavy (good spacer and used for teleport mixups) launcher (stays out for a while and is very hard to punish when covered by an assist)

UMVC3 Wesker guide

Hey guys, as promised i'm back and in full force. In this installment of my blog, I will be writing a character guide for Albert Wesker. In the original mvc3, he was hailed as one of the if not the best character in the game, however, as time progressed and new technology was found out about the game, he quickly declined down the tier listings. He is still a solid A tier character but is nowhere near as effective and dominant as he was in the the original game.

Playstyle: Wesker is primarily a rush down character who relies on cross-up mixups and tich throws to pound his opponent into submission. he doesnt have an effective overhead and as such is more reliant on his teleport mixups. He also has a bit of zoning and a few effective counters making him more well rounded than some of his rushdown counterparts.

Team Chemistry:  Wesker is a very versatile character and can be used in all three positions, but is best at the point or second spot on a team. If he's on point, he benefits greatly from a horizontal assist that can help him cross up the opponent such as taskmasters arrows or Magneto's disruptor. At the second spot, he is best when using his samurai edge (gun shot) assist to otg a character and contine a character or to coordinate unblockables with an overhead attack.

Important Normals : crouching medium punch, gunshot (even though its a command normal), launcher (is hard to punish), crouching light.
